October 11th is International Day of the Girl. In honor of this day, WEEMA International is announcing a new pilot project to help girls stay in school.
Girls around the world living in resource-poor settings miss up to 5 days of school each month just because she does not have sanitary pads to use when she is menstruating. Missing school leads to falling behind, and falling behind leads to dropping out. That is not okay, and it is completely preventable.
WEEMA is honored to be partnering with a local school to educate and provide reusable pads to its female students. This is absolutely essential for their well-being, self-confidence and success in school.
