WEEMA is one of 4 finalists for health "best practice" in Ethiopia. We have demonstrated our partnership with Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) as a best practice for its high quality of care, superb medical training and active involvement of all local stakeholders such as health centers, hospitals and government officials.

This award is being presented by the Ethiopian Civil Society Health Forum (ECSHF), a consortium with hundreds of members including WEEMA International. Judges from ECSHF visited project sites last week and will announce the final winners soon.

More about the award:
"The ECSHF is planning to conduct the documentation and dissemination of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) best practice in the form of documentary film to increase the visibility of CSOs working on health in the country. Accordingly, we are planning to collect the best practice of all member organizations and select three best practices that attract the attention of government, CSOs and donors. We will prepare documentary films for the three best practices selected by best practice review committee and disseminate to different actors including Federal Ministry of Health, UN agencies, international organizations, CSOs and other relevant public health communities. The best practice of the selected organizations will also be presented and acknowledged at the upcoming 2017 National CSOs Health Summit organized by ECSHF."
